A 2015 Donruss Re-Design

Nearly all of us who have taken a look at Panini's preview gallery of their upcoming 2015 Donruss set have done a double take and asked how could his have happened? I've seen suggestions all around the trading card blogosphere but it was Breakdown Card's tweet tonight that finally spurred me to action. Here's a redesign of Madison Bumgarner's card:

Taking Breakdown Card's suggest to removing the "baseball strip" and changing the border color I think we get a far superior design.  What are your thoughts on it?

I like your re-design. If Panini had used it (and actually had the ability to use MLB logos and uniform color combinations), I'd actually think about building the set.

That looks great! Obviously a nod to the 1985 Donruss design, made more pronounced by the black, but I don't think that's necessarily a bad thing. It really does look 100x better like this. Panini dropped the ball again.

The card definitely looks better minus the baseball strip and with a black border.

Looks 1000 times better. Great work.

I like your redesign, but I actually like the baseball strip. Despite them not having a license, I may buy a pack or two, or at the least buy some single online.
That looks nice! Even losing that baseball strip on the current design would help. It looks like one of those trading cards you can have made of yourself in little league, not an actual brand's design.
