My $10 Challenge Entry

Just sort of realized that I never got around to posting my pickup for the $10 Challenge that Chris Olds of the Beckett Blog posted last week. I only utilized five of the $10 to buy this collection of Thurman Munson postcards that has been taunting me since I first started going to my LCS a few years ago:

I finally pulled the trigger on them and I think they are pretty nice. Some of the paintings are better than others but I'm glad I bought them. And by the way, my card shop had the same Hank Aaron card that Chris highlighted in his post for $20 while he was able to pick up a copy for $5.50. Nice job Chris!

Here are each of the 12 post cards in the collection. The reverse says they are limited to 5,000 sets.

Wow, nice pickup. I think that's a really good deal for $5. I wasn't born when he was playing, but I became a fan while watching ""The Bronx is Burning". Nice collection.

$5 for that postcard set? Awesome find! #7 & #11 are my favorites... I still remember hearing about his death when I was a kid. I had just started collecting... and remember finding his 1978 Topps card in a stack of cards I had. I think that's why I like the #7 card so much.
