The Only Minnesota Viking I Collect

By all accounts I should be a Minnesota Vikings fan.

I grew up much closer to Minneapolis than Green Bay and thanks to Kirby Puckett and two World Series titles, I always loved the Twins more than the Brewers.

Plus, I'm Norwegian in nationality and so the Vikings seems like the natural team that I should follow.

I will always be a Packers fan first and foremost but I make an exception for one Vikings player -- Hall of Fame defensive end Alan Page.

Page is arguably the most politically successful ex-NFL player. While in the league, Page went to the University of Minnesota Law School and he actually worked for a law firm in the offseason towards the end of his career. Page went onto become Minnesota's Assistant Attorney General before he was elected to the Minnesota Supreme Court in 1992. He was reelected again in 1998, 2004 and 2010.

Here's a Page autograph from the 2011 Upper Deck College Legends set honoring his time at Notre Dame. As a senior, Page won the national championship with the Fighting Irish in 1966.
