A series of blog posts showing off my massive MOJO!
Before moving to the Atlanta area, I lived in Lawrence, Kansas which is of course home to the University of Kansas Jayhawks. Basketball, of course, ruled the town (it's pretty much all we had going for us) and I got to experience how crazy the town became when the Jayhawks made the Final Four in 2012.
I moved to the town in the fall of 2008 and I just missed the Jayhawks National Championship run during March Madness 2008. The players associated with that team are considered legends around town. One of the key players from that team was center Cole Aldrich who played for the Kansas from 2007-2010.
Aldrich was drafted as the 11th pick in the 2010 draft by the the New Orleans Hornets who then traded him to the Oklahoma City Thunder. Since then, he's bounced around to four other teams and is currently on the Los Angeles Clippers roster. No matter what level of success he will reach in the NBA he will always be a hero in a small city in Kansas.
I found his autographed team patch from 2010-2011 Panini Rookies as I guess there aren't too many Kansas fans around here.
