This Month In Politics: April 2014 Edition

In this series we highlight my political and non-sport cards pickups for the month.

This month we start with a random card from 2011 Topps American Pie which I like to think as an unofficial Watchmen card.

2011 Topps American Pie #11 Doomsday Clock

These next three are the last minis of the Man's Best Friend subset in 2012 Allen and Ginter and were received from trades from good old Mike D. I think this officially closes out the cards I wanted to get out of A and G 2012 and so I can finally turn to 2013's checklist and see which subsets look interesting.

2012 Topps Allen and Ginter #MBF-9 Boxer Mini
2012 Topps Allen and Ginter #MBF-14 Pug Mini

I've been eyeing some celebrity relics recently and I found this one at the right price...meaning next to nothing. This card comes from the American Pie Topps set from a few years ago. I re-watched The Sopranos after James Gandolfini died and I think the killing of Big Pussy story line was really the turning point at which the show peaked.

2011 Topps American Pie #APR-33 Vincent Pastore Relic

These next five cards come from a trade I received from Lonestarr a while ago...we've got a card of The Gipper...

2009 Topps Heritage #19 Ronald Reagan
Two showing the current President and probably the next President...and I'm not talking about John McCain.

...and a couple of the Upper Deck Retrospective cards. You can probably think of Putin's card on the left as his rookie card I would imagine.

A former fairly regular feature on this blog was featuring players and cards sporting horseshoe mustaches so I had to pick up this card from Topps American Pie set.
