Team Set Tuesday: 1980 Topps Milwaukee Brewers

The 1979 Brewers were a pretty great team by any standard.  They finished second in the Eastern Division with a record of 95-66 behind the Baltimore Orioles.  This is one of my favorite Brewer team sets as you got early cards from Paul Molitor and Robin Yount as well as personal favorites Gorman Thomas, Cecil Cooper, Jim Gantner.  It also has one of the cards of Sal Bando as a Brewer.

#406 Paul Molitor

Gorman led the league in home runs with 45 in the '79 season.

#623 Gorman Thomas
The only thing better than Lenn Sakata's glasses is by moving your eyes an inch to your left and taking a look at Willie Mueller's glasses.

The Brewers trained in Sun City, which was the easiest spring training park for us to get to. They ended up being my favorite American League team since we saw so many of their games.
