Show and Tell #46: Robin and Jamie From Rob

Reader Rob sent me a whole bunch of cards of some of my favorites including Robin Yount, Jamie Moyer, Gaylord Perry, and Ichiro in exchange for some Mets. Here are some of the Moyers and Younts that I don't think I have.

I've got a bunch of Topps but none of the O-Pee-Chee! I probably would never bother putting together an '88 set but and '88 O-Pee-Chee set...now that sounds like fun? Were they just as overproduced as '88 Topps? [Captain Canuck, I'm looking at you...]

1988 O-Pee-Chee #36 Jamie Moyer

Raise you hand if you remembered that Jamie Moyer pitched for the Cardinals? I'm not seeing a lot of raised hands...It was pretty forgettable as he had his worst season going 0-5 over eight games in 1991.

Along with the Moyer O-Pee-Chee, I also got a Yount O-Pee-Chee that I was missing.

Robin could rock the mullet with the best of them.

I realize I could walk up stairs and get my Standard Catalog but what's the fun in that when I can have you answer my questions for me. What was the point of this Boardwalk and Baseball set? It was only 33 cards so was it included in some other set? Pink cards? What were they thinking?

Like my Little League coach would scream to the outfield, "TWO HANDS!"

1992 Classic #T98 Robin Yount

I think Molitor just made a joke about Robin's mom in this photo. Yount's mustache grew and shrank during his career. This is during the full on horseshoe mustache phase.

More Canadian love...first O-Pee-Chee and now Leaf!

1986 Leaf #31 Robin Yount

Poor Woolworth's...why can't you still make cards?

1989 Woolworth Baseball Highlights #22 Robin Yount 2,600th Hit

I think I have this one but who doesn't enjoy some dog food cards.

Thanks for the trade Rob!
