With all the hoopla about Hall of Fame voting this year in baseball and football I noticed this little interesting tidbit when trying to find something interesting to say about Luis Aparicio that I already haven't said.
Aparicio was the top vote getter of his Hall of Fame class of 1984 on his sixth ballot. He received more votes than Harmon Killebrew [4th ballot...Harmon Killebrew wasn't a freaking 1st ballot Hall of Famer?] and Don Drysdale [10th ballot] who were elected with him. It's just really surprising to me because Luis seems to be a prime candidate for a Veteran's Committee selection as a much appreciated player with low statistical totals.
