This one was just a spur of the moment decision at Target this past weekend and as a Rated Rookie fanatic, it couldn't have worked out better.
Five 1988 and one 1993 Rated Rookie...one of these days I will get my stuff together and get a complete Rated Rookie needs list...I know I've got copies of some of these but even though '88 Donruss was one of the most over-produced sets I don't think I've ever seen the Mackey Sasser or Eddie Williams cards before.
Interesting Fact: Jeff was the first Atlanta Brave to score a run in a World Series game back in 1991.
Interesting Fact: Although you many have never heard of Eddie, he played twelve seasons including one with the Fukuoka Daiei Hawks.
Interesting Fact: By far the biggest star in this Rated Rookie group, "Black Jack" is now a musician in the band Stickfigure.
Interesting Fact: Jody hit into two triple plays in his career.
Interesting Fact: During his career Mackey developed trouble in throwing the ball back to the pitcher after a pitch. He would double pump the throw before sending it back to the pitcher even though during stolen base attempts he was able to throw the ball in one motion.
Interesting Fact: Billy is tied for the Dodgers record of most pinch hit homers in a season.
