Tales from the LCS #2

Stopping in at the LCS [Jeff's Sportcards in Topeak] last weekend I was pleasantly surprised to see a nice box marked "$2.00 per card" that had just been filled to the brim with new stuff. There was a surprising amount of prospect signatures in the box and I dug out these Twins prospects not really having a clue if they are still with the Twins or even still in baseball all together.

Jeff was drafted by the Twins in the 8th round of the 2008 draft but was released the next season. He's currently in A+ ball with the Phillies.

2006 Topps Chrome #347 Willie Eyre Autograph

Willie was a 23rd round pick by the Twins back in 1999 and was up and down the Twins minor league teams until 2006 when he was released. He's now pitching in AAA with the Rangers.

My shop had just about every card in the Babe Ruth version of '61 Chase cards from this year's Heritage in their 50 cent bin. I didn't quite feel like paying nearly $8 for the set so I just picked some with photos I haven't seen a million times before.

I pick up a Larry Walker relic card every now and again when I stumble upon one for a nice price [$3.00, in this case]. If Larry's career only encompassed the 1997-2001 seasons he would be considered one of the greatest players ever. He had a batting average of .357 over those five seasons and averaged 31 home runs and a hair under 100 RBIs a season.

Would you be willing to part with some of the Red Sox you go in Thorzul's grab bag giveaway? I need that Boggs KayBee, Clemens DK looking card, and the Clemens Tiffany. Not to mention any other Tiffany Red Sox...
