Now I Get It

After reading this article in the NY Post [I'm sorry, can't find something better] you begin to understand why Topps has an exclusive license with the MLB...and it's NOT because of how awesome 2010 Chicle looks.

Wow! It's all starting to make sense.
wow, I had no idea... who would have thought that the brand that Junior made would be ruined by Pikachu!

Makes you question the legitimacy of everything they do.

I better get my redemptions before they go under.

Cool - maybe if UD goes under Topps will get its football license back.

Wow. I knew UD took a hit when they lost the Yu-Gi-Oh license, but I didn't realize there was all this stuff going on. Interestingly enough, entertainment cards killed Fleer too...

And dammit I LIKE THE NATIONAL CHICLE ART CARDS!!! The whole first half of that post defends the artwork! I'm just fed up with Topps' shenanigans! And Babe Ruth's name on a Chipper Jones card is shenanigans! And that's Chipper Jones, I don't care what picture it's based on! Why does everyone think I hate National Chicle! Aaaaarrrgggghhhh!

dayf -- such is the life of the trend setter...without your post I imagine some of us would be indifferent about the set or just like the set without having the need to form an opinion. But now that we know what they did to Chipper Jones it's the worst things since Hitler!

I don't think we are going to see those 2010 logoless MLB cards now. This is the beginning of the end. They started reprinting all those 1989 Griffey's and reverse Murphy's back in 1989. It is a common theme with there Company over the last 20 years. After producing 20 years of junk maybe the hobby can get rid of them.

I wonder if they posted info about this lawsuit on there website. At least they stood behind (far?) Tiger Woods.

Rackenfrackit! Putting Babe Ruth's name on a Chipper Jones card is not the worst thing since Hitler!

Sneaking all black bordered cards into blasters unannounced and then yanking them back to 2 packs a blaster in Series 2 is the worst thing since Hitler!

NOTAFINGA!

Kind of echoing night owl's words. I really want to get a certified auto of Koufax on a baseball but since he's an Upper Deck guy two things come to mind now. 1. Price 2. More importantly the legitimacy of the signature. I mean if McWilliams is willing to counterfeit Yu Gi Oh cards who's to say he wouldn't allow the company to counterfeit some of the more high end items?
