Odds & Ends

It's not often that I am completely surprised by a card(s) but the two cards above from reader Michel R. did that to me....Apologies for the scan quality, but these two metal cards are from the 1996 Leaf Preferred set and are apart of the Leaf Steel insert that came one per pack...I found a couple boxes of this stuff available on-line and it ranges between $35-$40.

Along with the Diamond Kings and metal cards, Michel R. sent along this card which has stumped me. Is there an entire Canadian Greats subset that I've missed out on? Or is this the only one. I've opened my share of 1987 Donruss but I've never run across it...or is it from the Canadian Leaf variety?

Some political cards from GCRL:

What is confusing about this card is that while the subject of the card is the 1919 Treaty that ended World War I but the painting on the front looks like something out of the 17th century.

The card should have probably have a picture of something like this...

I'm not sure if you saw the footage of President Bush dodging not one but two shoes today in Iraq it is pretty amazing...I don't know if I've ever been more proud of W.

And two of Teddy Roosevelt [one from GCRL and one pulled from a pack]:

The Canadian Greats cards is from 1987 Leaf, which was basically the Canada version of Donruss. Think Topps and O-Pee-Chee.

W did do some good duckin' today. That dude had Steve Blass disease though - good velocity, no control.
